Fran proposed on the beach in Cape May and it didn’t quite go as planned. I cracked a rib two days before the trip so I was in pain and Fran and my daughter Erin wanted to take a walk on the beach. Walking in the sand was a bit too much for me so I decided to go back to the car which left Fran having to propose in front of the guys fishing on the beach instead of the peaceful spot he originally picked out. When he asked it didn’t even register what he had just said. Erin had to ask if I was going to open the box. For the first time in my life I was speechless. Who knew after 6 years he would propose?
